[gig] Beat Frequency - Brixton - 20th of March

The Mad Hatter cordially invites you to
MAD HATS & MOUSTACHES
in aid of The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is back and this time we will be jigging and japing, sipping tea-tinis, frolicking, nibbling cupcakes, talking nonsense and generally making merry in aid of Charity.

Prepare for a magical night beyond your wildest dreams as Brixton’s Jamm is transformed into a veritable Wonderland on Saturday 20th March 2010.

Following the sell out party in November 2009, a bigger venue has been found, and a night filled with nonsense looms: step through the looking glass and immerse yourself in the pleasures and mysteries* that await you within!

*(We don’t want to ruin the surprise but you can expect cupcakes, ‘jamm’ tarts, fictional characters causing mischief, unusual entertainers, lights, hats, dancing, teapots, fancy dress and much more).

An eclectic bill of entertainment has been confirmed so bring your hat and your dancing shoes and prepare to be enchanted:

“Genuinely innovative” Summer Holiday top the bill (
http://www.myspace.com/summerholidaymusic) described by Radio 1’s Steve Lamacq as ‘proper amazing’. Modestly describing themselves as ‘Tesco Value Scissor Sisters’ they weave saxophone, trombone and violin in to their original indie sound which will enhance the Wonderland vibe of the evening.

XFM favourite White Collar Weapons follow (
http://www.myspace.com/whitecollarweapons) - described as being ‘sweetly melodic, yet exploding into bursts of noise with a ferocity that make Gallows look slack’, you cannot fail to be impressed by one of the best unsigned acts around today.

Gordon Charlton (Beat Frequency) will be providing unique electronic beats on his mystical theremin -

Cranky Alexander a brand new funky rock/soul outfit
